Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1Airport / Kataragama via Ussangoda

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and meet your private chauffeur guide. Travel southward towards Kataragama, pausing en route at Ussangoda — the dramatic scorched coastal cliff where Lord Hanuman torched Ravana's airport with his blazing tail. In the evening, attend the sacred pooja ceremony at the Kataragama Subramaniam Temple, dedicated to Lord Karthikeya who defended Rama from Ravana's Brahmasthra. Dinner and overnight stay in Kataragama.

Day 2Kataragama to Nuwara Eliya via Ella

After breakfast, drive up into the scenic highlands of Ella. View the roaring 1,080-foot Ravana Ella Falls and the ancient caves above the cascade. Continue to Nuwara Eliya to visit the vibrant Sita Amman Kovil, the exotic Hakgala Botanical Gardens (identified with Ashok Vatika where Sita met Hanuman), and Divurumpola Temple where Sita proved her devotion during the Agni Pariksha. Dinner and overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3Nuwara Eliya to Kandy via Ramboda

Depart Nuwara Eliya winding through emerald tea hills. Stop at a working tea factory and Ramboda Falls, before paying homage at the Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, built on the ridge where Hanuman searched for Sita. In Kandy, visit the revered Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and take a tranquil stroll around Kandy Lake. Dinner and overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 4Kandy to Sigiriya & Cobra Hooded Cave

After breakfast, drive to Sigiriya via a spice garden in Matale. Explore the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, towering 200 meters above the jungle plain. Within the royal pleasure gardens below lies the ancient Cobra Hooded Cave, bearing pre-historic ceiling paintings and ancient Brahmi inscriptions ('Parumaka naguliya lene', referring to Sita) which legend associates with Princess Sita's captivity. Dinner and overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 5Sigiriya to Chilaw (Munneshwaram & Manavari) to Negombo

Drive west towards Chilaw on the western coast. Visit the ancient Munneshwaram Shiva Temple, where Lord Rama paused to seek counsel from Lord Shiva, and the Manavari Temple nearby where Rama consecrated the first Ramalinga Shivan to cleanse the Brahmaasthi Dosham. Continue to Negombo for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6Negombo to Airport — Departure

Enjoy your final breakfast by the Indian Ocean before transferring to Bandaranaike International Airport for your onward journey, carrying memories of King Ravana's mythical realms.
