Day 1Arrival in Negombo
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to a beautiful beachside hotel in Negombo — just minutes away. Check in, relax, and enjoy the calm beaches of Negombo as you shake off any jet lag. A fresh seafood dinner at a beachside restaurant sets the tone.
Day 2Wilpattu Safari & Anuradhapura
Transfer to Wilpattu National Park for a traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch under the trees before an afternoon jeep safari — Sri Lanka's largest park, famous for its leopard population and atmospheric 'willu' lakes. Continue to Anuradhapura for an overnight stay in the sacred ancient city.
Day 3Anuradhapura to Sigiriya
Morning exploration of ancient Anuradhapura — the sacred Bodhi Tree, Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, and royal pleasure gardens. Transfer to Sigiriya in the afternoon. Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress in the late afternoon, timing the ascent to catch the extraordinary golden sunset light over the surrounding jungle — one of the finest views in Sri Lanka.
Day 4Sigiriya to Kandy via Dambulla
Morning drive to Kandy via Dambulla Cave Temple and Nalanda Gedige. Arrive in Kandy by afternoon and receive blessings at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. In the evening, enjoy a Kandyan cultural performance — drumming, fire-walking, and traditional dances that have been performed for royal audiences for centuries.
Day 5Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
Morning visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya. Board the scenic train to Nuwara Eliya for the highland railway experience through tea estates. Arrive and indulge in a high tea experience on the hotel lawn — perfectly aligned with the colonial British traditions of this little highland town.
Day 6Nuwara Eliya to Galle
A morning at the tea plantation and factory before driving south through the spectacular highland scenery via Little England, the Ella viewpoints, and the lowland plains of the south. Arrive in the late afternoon at the magnificent Galle Dutch Fort and check in to a hotel within the ramparts.
Day 7Galle Fort Day
A full, unhurried day in Galle Fort — one of the finest colonial cities in Asia. Morning walk on the ocean-side ramparts as fishing boats head out to sea. Explore the old Dutch streets, the 17th-century Reformed Church, the lighthouse, and the boutique galleries and cafés. Evening on the fort's most scenic rampart wall as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.
Day 8Galle to Airport — Optional Colombo Stop
Transfer north to Bandaranaike International Airport along the Southern Expressway, with an optional stop in Colombo to experience the city skyline, the Gangaramaya Temple, or the Galle Face Green waterfront before departure.
